Background and Release[]
Tobias Forge has described the song's lyrical contents as "super-aggressive" and "very hostile". He continues: “It’s still meant as a pep-talk, but it’s basically demeaning and openly hating anyone who's listening. It promises only air, but poisoned air. And yet it still wraps it up as a gift, as something you should say ‘thank you’ for. Which is like a lot of the bullshit that we've been seeing the past couple of years.”[1] In a track-by-track guide, Forge adds on: "A call to arms. It could be a very optimistic song about a future where we can grab people by the pussy and just fuck shit up. So it’s meant as a party track, if you like that stuff."[2]
It is widely regarded as a commentary about the state of the world in the 2020s, containing several references to phrases uttered by former U.S. President Donald Trump. Griftwood, from the same album, is about former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence.
