The United Clergy of Ghost, commonly known as The Clergy, is the behind-the-scenes organization that controls Ghost. As of June 2024, Frater Imperator is the apparent leader of the organization, with the spirits of his parents Papa Nihil and Sister Imperator still serving in prominent advisory roles despite their deaths in 2020 and 2024, respectively. Mr. Psaltarian is speculated to be a member of The Clergy based on Chapter Eleven: Family Dinner.
The title "The United Clergy of Ghost" was revealed in 2022 during the Imperatour as an inscription on the third known series of Infernal Reserve Notes ("Mummy Bucks").
Official announcements made by Ghost typically begin with "[MESSAGE FROM THE CLERGY] We wish to inform you...".
