Introduction[]

A Nameless Ghoul nicknamed "Dewdrop" or "Sodo" by fans. He has been the lead guitarist for Ghost ever since Era IV, but previously played bass during Era III. He is mostly known for his energetic and cocky demeanor, his aggressive interactions with fellow bandmates, and his love of the crowd.

Era III[]

His first show with Ghost was on March 24th, 2017 with the start of the European Popestar Tour. He was the bass guitarist of the era, playing a Fender percussion bass in the center of the stage. He received his name because of his status as a water ghoul and his short stature when compared to his other bandmates.

Era IV[]

Era IV is when he became the lead guitarist for the band, playing a black and white Hagstrom Fantomen guitar on the right side of the stage. The elemental change led many fans to instead call him "Sodo," inspired by the nickname Per Eriksson acquired many years ago in an inside joke that has gone too far resulting in an infamous tattoo, which he considers getting removed at this point. Many stuck to calling him "Dewdrop," though, leading him to now be referred to by both names interchangeably.

His outfit is overall the same as other ghouls, the only difference being a grucifix pin on his guitar strap, a black undershirt that hides the tattoos on his arms, and the occasional suspenders. Although, during the bows of a show, the right horn on his mask fell off. This would later be referenced in his Era V outfit.

He became known for his energetic nature, including licking his guitar, throwing guitar picks at the crowd, or doing lewd hand gestures. He also consistently interacted with other ghouls, including climbing others' stages to play with them (notably being Swiss and Cirrus) or smacking Mountain's drums mid-show.

Era V[]

He continues to play guitar in this era, swapping to a Stratocaster guitar due to its better features and lighter weight. He remains located on the right side of the stage, mostly standing in front of Aurora's and Cumulus' platforms.

His outfit is overall the same as the other ghouls, the only unique features being white horns and a bat-wing-like patch on the left side of his mask. Additionally, his right horn is cracked, serving as a callback to when his horn fell off during Era IV. His outfit also used to include the blue capes the ghoulettes wear, but, due to it getting in the way of playing guitar, he eventually stopped wearing it.

This era includes many notable moments from him, some highlights including throwing his setlist at the crowd, annoying Papa Emeritus IV by taking center stage during his solos, and his various... colorful interactions with Swiss, Phantom, or Rain. He is also featured in Ghost's concert film, Rite Here Rite Now, where the majority of his screentime is dedicated to his guitar solos or interactions with the other ghouls.

Origin Of The Name[]

The accepted origin of the name "Dewdrop" is his initial status as a water ghoul and his shorter height. Although, the name "Sodo" became popular after he swapped elements, inspired by a tattoo Per Eriksson has, which he now considers to get removed, due to the offensive nature of it; „It is a joke gone too far many years ago“ - Per Eriksson. Whether he wishes to not be addressed as Sodo anymore or if it is ok to nickname the Ghoul character that, is still unknown at this point. There was a rumor in 2022 that the nickname "Dewdrop" made Per Eriksson uncomfortable, but because he never commented on it publicly this was assumed to be false. Both are now used interchangeably by fans.

Memorable Moments[]

  • While Aether was still in the band, he and Sodo used to have "guitar duels" where they would try to out-do each other by playing increasingly complicated guitar solos.
  • He would occasionally mess with Mountain's drums with Swiss, clanging on them mid-show.
  • At the end of Ritual, Sodo used to use a sustainer pickup to create a siren noise. This would annoy the other ghouls, causing Aether to intervene and mute the guitar. This often ended in Sodo flipping him off, throwing guitar picks at him, or simply staring in disbelief.
  • When Aether left the band, the siren noise was changed to an extended guitar solo and Rain would intervene instead. In the band's concert film Rite Here Rite Now, Rain threw Sodo's guitar pick, causing Sodo to flip over his guitar to reveal a sticker that says "You Suck" in the style of the YouTube logo. He then flipped off Rain as he walked away.
  • Sodo would occasionally sing backup vocals for Mary on a Cross or Ritual, singing into either Aether or Swiss' microphones.
  • In Rite Here Rite Now, there's an ongoing gag where Sodo or Phantom would constantly upstage Papa Emeritus IV, taking center stage or cutting in front of him to play guitar solos.
  • During the Era IV show, Sodo once injured his little finger while playing the guitar rudely. It happened while he was throwing the last pick into the crowd, looking hopefully at the Phantom. By the end of the show, his guitar was covered in blood, which caused him to draw a pentagram with his own blood on his setlist before throwing it into the crowd.
  • During Era IV, he would often lick his guitar or throw guitar picks into the crowd.
  • In the song Kiss the go-goat, Phantom fell to his knees in front of Sodo.
