Introduction[]

A Nameless Ghoul nicknamed "Aether" by fans. He became the rhythm guitarist for Ghost near the end of Era III and left in the middle of Era V. He became known for his high energy on stage, his fun dynamic with his fellow ghouls, and his guitar playing.

Era III[]

Aether was added to the band during the European leg of the Popestar Tour on March 24th, 2017. He became decently identifiable with his plain black Hagstrom Fantomen and his silver watch and rings. He was also the strongest physically of the ghouls, which was especially accentuated by his constantly rolled up sleeves. He was dubbed "Aether" simply due to his element, as it's just another word for quintessence.

Era IV[]

Era IV is when Aether had the most time to shine, thus cementing him as a fan-favorite. He became known for his high energy on stage, often jumping around, interacting with his fellow bandmates, or playing creative riffs on his guitar.

Era V[]

The ghouls' outfits changed to Vicorian-inspired uniforms in this era, thus giving Aether a custom-made mask reminiscent of a gas mask. His mask is made unique with its bat wing patch on the left, a feature that matches Sodo, as he has the same patch on his right.

Aether's time as the band's rhythm guitarist came to an abrupt end on September 23rd, 2022, where he was fired via email.

Origin of the Name[]

"Aether" is simply another word for Quintessence. This simple naming convention was most likely due to the previous two Quintessence ghouls being named after Greek characters, which left room for him to be named something more straight-forward. The name was most likely popularized by fanfiction authors.

Memorable Moments:[]

  • Aether once started playing the melody of Mariah Carrey's "All I Want for Christmas is You" during bows.
  • He and Sodo used to have guitar duels, where one would try to play a better solo than the other.

Trivia[]

  • Chris Catalyst has spoken a bit about his departure from Ghost on his Twitter, but keeps details intentionally vague. According to him, he has since moved on to better things. He now even omits Ghost from his list of bands in his Twitter bio, most likely due to the abrupt and mildly cruel nature of his leave.
  • Chris Catalyst confirmed on his Twitter that Aether would dropkick a transphobe <3
